Executive Director Lyne Biewinga: “Positive Steps Towards a Stronger UK-EU Trade Relationship."
"We welcome today's announcements aimed at improving UK-EU trade relations. These represent positive and encouraging steps forward. Many of the measures outlined reflect proposals that the NBCC has long championed. Dynamic alignment on the trade in agricultural goods, improved people mobility, and the UK’s accession the internal energy market will boost growth and remove barriers for Dutch and British businesses.
That said, we urge both sides to act with urgency. In these challenging times, it is essential that every opportunity to improve the business environment is seized and implemented without delay.
Now is the time for governments and businesses to work together and maximise the opportunity to grow our bilateral trade. Access to UK universities, enhanced collaboration on critical technologies, and developing common security and defence sectors require further elaboration, alongside continued engagement with the private sector.
We look forward to seeing Dutch and British companies - and indeed British consumers - experience the benefits of these developments, such as improved availability and pricing of Dutch flowers and plants on supermarket shelves."
