The NBCC together with the UK Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and VNO-NCW is pleased to invite you to a roundtable discussion on business and people mobility at the Malietoren in The Hague. The discussion will centre on business mobility as a catalyst for economic growth and a key instrument for reducing trade barriers in UK-NL relations. 

DBT is seeking views from businesses on the current short-term (up to 90 days in a 180-day period) and medium-term (up to 1-2 years) business mobility arrangements between the UK and EU Member States. We would be interested in understanding how to improve your company’s experience in moving staff between the UK and the Netherlands, in either direction, to provide services to clients or support business operations, whether as independent contractors or as part of a wider project team.  

For context, business mobility regards, for instance, business visitors for establishment purposes, intra-corporate transferees, short-term business visitors or contractual service providers. Below are several examples of business mobility difficulties:

• Are you unable to send a worker to conduct a specialised task in the UK at very short notice?
• Does your company face high administrative and financial burdens in visa processes for your employees?
• Is your business facing issues with the mutual recognition of professional qualifications? 

The target audience for this event includes HR professionals from businesses that regularly send staff on short- and medium-term assignments to the UK.
